FIGLI DELLA BEATA MARIA VERGINE IMMACOLATA DI LUÇON. - A religious congregation founded at Sables-d'Olonne in 1800 by the priest Luigi M. Baudoin. It subsequently developed at the Seminary of Chavagnes-an-Paillers. A decree of the bishop of La Rochelle suppressed it in 1818, but Baudoin restored it to new life in 1828, and in 1841 Fr. Baizé gave it juridical consolidation. In 1857 the

The Holy See granted the decree of praise and, in 1898, definitive approval. It consists of priests and lay brothers and is devoted to teaching and religious apostolate in France and in the missions. It currently has 166 members in 13 houses.
