Also known as: Brothers of St. Patrick

BROTHERS OF SAINT PATRICK. - Religious institute founded at Tullow (County Carlow) in 1808 by the priest Daniel Delany, later bishop of Kildare, for the education and instruction of youth in schools and colleges. It received from Leo XIII the decree of praise on 6 Jan. 1888 and definitive approval on 8 Sept. 1893.

The religious have simple perpetual vows and also devote themselves to the apostolate. Besides Ireland they are spread in Australia and India, numbering more than 200 with 32 houses.
