GIACOMO di LOSANNA - Dominican theologian and preacher, born at Lausanne around the middle of the thirteenth century, died at Pons in 1321. He was a member of the commission appointed by the Master General of the Dominicans to examine the doctrine of Durando da St-Pourçain (1313–14). From 1318 until his death he was provincial of France.
Of him there survive the first two books of the Commento alle Sentenze (Vienna, Staatsbibl., ms. 1542), many sermons, and various moral commentaries on almost all the books of Holy Scripture. The following were published: Sermones dominicales et festivales (Paris 1530); Opus moralitatum (Limoges 1528, some extracts from his moral commentaries on Holy Scripture).
