GUGLIELMO di CUN (de Cuneo, de Cugno). — A jurist of the 14th century. French, not Italian, by nationality, as was once believed, he taught civil law at Toulouse from 1316 to 1317 and perhaps at Orléans. He had frequent dealings with the papal court of Avignon and was elected bishop of Comminges; he died in 1335.
He is credited with lecture courses on the Digestum vetus and the Codex, works highly praised by Diplomatico and frequently cited by Bartolo. Two short treatises also belong to G. di C.: De muncribus and De securitate.
