WILLIAM of VORILLON (VORILLONG, FORLEON, VALLE RULLONIS). - French Scotist of the 15th century, b. at Vorillon in the Côte-du-Nord, d. at Rome ca. 1464. A Franciscan religious at Dinant in 1429, he taught at Paris as a bachelor of the Sentences.

In 1462, while the question "de sanguine Christi" was being debated in Rome in the presence of Pope Pius II, he was invited to take part in it. His principal work is the Super quattuor Lib. Senten. iuxta doctrinam s. Bonaventurae et Scoti, a commentary completed in 1429-30 and published several times (Lyons 1484, 1495, 1499; Paris 1503; Venice 1496, 1519). To it may be added the Repertorium seu vademecum vel collectionarium opinionum in Scoto nullatenus signatarum ex quattuor Lib. Senten. (Padua 1842-47), also of great importance for textual criticism.
