INFANTA. – A prelature nullius and city in the Philippine Islands, created on 25 April 1950 by Pope Pius XII through the apostolic constitution *Praecibus annuentes*, by separating from the diocese of Lipa the islands of Polillo and the northern part of the civil province of Quezon; the residential see of the prelature is fixed in the city of Infanta; the church of St Mark the Evangelist is elevated to the dignity of a prelatial church; the prelature is a suffragan of Manila.
