INFANTA. - Prelature nullius and city in the Philippine Islands, created on 25 April 1950 by Pope Pius XII with the apostolic constitution Praecibus annuntes, by dismemberment from the diocese of Lipa of the Polillo Islands and the northern part of the civil province of Quezon; the residential seat of the prelature is fixed in the city of I.; the church of St. Mark the Evangelist is elevated to prelatial dignity; the prelature is a suffragan of Manila.
