KAISEDORYS, DIOCESE of. – Diocese in Lithuania. Within an area of 9,743 sq km, it has 228,026 inhabitants, of whom 220,426 are Catholics, distributed among 66 parishes (1951).
The diocese was established by Pope Pius XI through the apostolic constitution Lituanorum gente of 4 April 1926, elevating the new Church of the Transfiguration to cathedral status.
