LAMBARDI, GIACOMO. — Quietist, born in Bevagna, lived in the 17th century. He had already been censured by the Holy Office of Perugia in 1642.
Called by Cardinal Bichi, bishop of Osimo, to found an oratory in that city, he was subsequently imprisoned by the Holy Office for his persistent quietism. He had created a very flourishing “conventicle” of quietist followers, who were obliged to abjure their heretical ideas between 20 June and 7 July 1675. L. died at home (1673), where he had been able to return on account of ill health. His works were condemned after his death (decree of 28 March 1675).
