Lambardi, Giacomo

LAMBARDI, GIACOMO. - Quietist, b. at Bevagna, lived in the 17th century. He was already censured by the Holy Office of Perugia in 1642.

Summoned by Cardinal Bichi, bishop of Osimo, to found an oratory in that city, he was then imprisoned by the Holy

Office for his persistent quietism. He had created a very flourishing "conventicle" of Quietist followers, who had to abjure their heretical ideas between 20 June and 7 July 1675. L. died at home (1673), where he was able to return because of poor health. His works were condemned after his death (decree of 28 March 1675).
