LANDONE, PAPA

LANDO, Pope. - Almost nothing is known about this Pontiff. He was the son of a rich Lombard count of Sabina, named Taino or Raino, succeeded Anastasius III at the end of 913 and died in the spring of 914. The length of his pontificate, according to the Chronicon Farfense, would have been about 6 months; other medieval catalogues and chroniclers count a number varying from one to six (the Liber Pontificalis gives 3), while some ignore him completely (Martin of Opava, Vincent of Beauvais).
