LANDO, POPE. — Almost nothing is known about this Pontiff. He was the son of a wealthy Lombard count of the Sabina, named Taino or Raino, succeeded Anastasius III at the end of 913 and died in the spring of 914. According to the Chronicon Farfense, his pontificate lasted about six months; other medieval catalogues and chroniclers give varying durations from one to six months (the Liber Pontificalis gives three), while some completely ignore him (Martin of Poland, Vincent of Beauvais).
