LICCI(o), Giovanni, Blessed. - Dominican preacher, b. at Caccamo (Palermo) ca. 1426, d. 14 Nov. 1511.

At the age of fifteen he took the religious habit in the Palermo convent of St. Zita, where the superior was the blessed Pietro Gerema, whose reforming work L. was to continue, both among the religious and among the people. His preaching met with great success, especially in Sicily. He also went to Vicenza. In 1487 he founded a Dominican convent in his native town. The following year he was elected vicar of the reformed Congregation of Sicily, and again in 1497.

His cult was confirmed by Benedict XIV on 25 Apr. 1753. Feast on 14 Nov.
