«LUX ALMA IESU MENTIUM». — Hymn of Lauds on the feast of the Transfiguration; taken from the Jubilus rythmicus de Nomine Iesu of the first half of the 13th century, of unknown author, falsely attributed to St. Bernard (v. IESU DECUS ANGELICUM).
On Mount Tabor Jesus revealed to the three Apostles who had followed Him there His divinity, and His face shone like the sun. This divine light inspired sentiments of confidence in asking Jesus to illumine minds, dispel darkness, and infuse charity and sweetness.
