Mark of Tomba

MARCO della TOMBA. - Missionary and Indian scholar, born on an unspecified date in Tomba (Senigallia); as a young man he entered the Order of the Capuchins and in 1755 set out for northern India, where he worked in Bettiah, Patna, and Chandernagor. In 1773 he returned to Europe. In 1781 he went back to the same mission.
