MARGARET OF FAENZA, Blessed. - Vallombrosanmystic, died at a hundred years of age in 1330. A disciple of St. Humility (v.) in the monastery of S. Maria di Faenza, she followed the Saint in 1280 to Florence, where they succeeded in founding a new monastery in 1282.
In 1310 she succeeded St. Humility in the government of the community. Endowed with choice charisms, in her visions she partook of the sorrows of the Lord's Passion, who, it is told, placed his ring on her finger. Her memory is celebrated on 26 August.
