BL. MARGUERITE OF SAVOY. — Daughter of Amadeus of Savoy, Prince of Acacia, and of Catherine of Geneva, born at Pinerolo about 1390. In 1403 she married Theodore II of Montferrat, by whom she was widowed in 1418. She retired to the monastic life among the Dominican nuns at Alba, where she died on 23 November 1464. Her cult was confirmed on 8 October 1669 by Clement IX. Feast, 27 November.
