MISSIONARIES SONS OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS. - A religious congregation dependent on the Sacred Congregation of Propaganda, which established it by decree on 27 July 1923 with the German members of the Congregation of the Sons of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, whose Constitutions and purpose it retained, namely the conversion of the infidels, and in particular of Africans.
It has 8 houses in Germany, Austria, Italy, Yugoslavia, and 170 professed members. The generalate is at Ellwangen, Jagst (Germany). It is entrusted with the Apostolic Vicariate of Lyndenburg (Transvaal); some of its religious also work in Peru.
