ODERISI. — Miniaturist, born in Gubbio, but active in Bologna, where documents indicate his presence between 1268 and 1271.
Dante recalls him (Purg., XI, vv. 79 ff.) as a representative of the old style of miniature painting, already surpassed in his day by that of Franco. However, research conducted by scholars to identify, among the miniatures produced in the second half of the 13th century in the Bolognese *Studio*, those by O., has so far yielded no concrete results.
