FRANCESCO OLIMPIO, Venerable. — Ascetic writer of the Theatine Order, born in Naples on 5 August 1559, died there on 21 February 1639.
He distinguished himself by his holy life, rich in works of charity and apostolate and marked by divine charisms. He particularly excelled in spreading devotion to the Immaculate Conception through the pious practices of the “Marian slavery” and the Crown of Twelve Privileges of Mary. The cause for his beatification has been introduced.
He wrote: *Breve esercizio da farsi da quelli li quali vivono sotto il titolo di Schiavi incatenati della Madre di Dio...*
