« PASCHALE MUNDO GAUDIUM ». — Hymn of Lauds in the Common of the Apostles during Eastertide.
The three stanzas of which it is composed belong to the hymn falsely attributed to St Ambrose, Aurora coelum purpurat, though it is of very ancient date and of unknown authorship (cf. Blume, LI, p. 90). It expresses the joy of the Apostles at the Resurrection of Jesus, of which they would be the authorized and official witnesses.
