preachers and moralists of his century. He probably entered the Dominican convent at Lyon around 1236–40. In 1249, Fra Salimbene attests to his activity as a preacher and confessor in Vienne. He was several times prior of the Lyon convent, as in 1261. He exercised great spiritual influence through his “Summa.”

Among his works are: Summa de vitiis et virtutibus (Basel 1469, and 14 other editions before 1500, and 23 after); Sermones de dominicis et festis (Ulm 1486, etc.); Expositio professionis monachorum (Paris 1500, etc.); probably his is De eruditione principum (Rome 1570), listed among the works of St. Thomas.
