PIE SORELLE DELLA PICCOLA MISSIONE PER LE SORDOMUTE. — Institute founded in Bologna in 1890 by the two priest brothers Giuseppe and Cesare Gualandi.
It is the female branch for the education of deaf-mute girls, parallel to the male branch, founded by the same men in 1890 for deaf-mute boys, under the name «Piccola Missione per i Sordomuti». It received the decree of praise on 1 July 1913 and today has 8 houses, all in Italy (cf. Mondo cattolico, Rome 1952, pp. 316–17).
