PISCETTA, LUIGI. – Theologian, born in Comignano (Novara) on 12 February 1858, died in Turin on 25 October 1925. He made his profession in the Society of S. Francesco di Sales (Salesians) on 17 July 1875; was ordained a priest on 19 October 1880; received his degree in theology in 1880 and was admitted in 1885 to the Doctoral College of the Faculty of Theology of the Metropolitan Seminary of Turin, where he taught moral theology for fully 40 years.
In 1898 he published the highly esteemed Elementa theologiae moralis, which in the years 1923 ff. was updated and completed with Sacramentary theology by his confrere, the Rev. Andrea Gennaro.
