PISCETTA, LUIGI. – Theologian, born at Comignano (Novara) on 12 Feb. 1858, died at Turin on 25 Oct. 1925. Professed in the Society of St Francis de Sales (Salesians) on 17 July 1875; priest on 19 Oct. 1880; graduated in theology in 1880 and attached in 1885 to the doctoral college of the Faculty of Theology of the metropolitan seminary of Turin, where he taught moral theology for a full forty years.
In 1898 he published the highly esteemed Elementa theologiae moralis, which in the years 1923 and following were supplemented and completed with sacramental theology by his confrere Fr Andrea Gennaro.
