REGINALD of Saint-Gilles, Blessed. — Born at St-Gilles in 1183, died 10 February 1220. In 1206 he was already a professor of canon law at Paris.

After five years there, R. became dean of the Institute of St-Agnan in Orléans. At the beginning of 1218, while in Rome, he became a disciple of St Dominic and assisted him in the founding of the convents of Bologna and Paris, where he died in a reputation for holiness. His cult was ratified in 1875 with the title of blessed. Feast, 12 February.
