RÉGINALDO di SAINT-GILLES, blessed. – Born at St-Gilles in 1183, died on 1 February 1220. In 1206 he was already a professor of canon law in Paris.
After remaining there for 5 years, R. became dean of the Institute of St-Aignan of Orléans. At the beginning of 1218, while in Rome, he became a disciple of St Dominic and assisted him in founding the convents of Bologna and Paris, where he died in a reputation for holiness. His cult was ratified in 1875, with the title of blessed. Feast day: 12 February.
