Regis Superni Nuntia

REGIS SUPERNI NUNTIA. - Hymn of Vespers and Matins for the feast of St. Teresa of Jesus, composed by Urban VIII in 1629 when he extended the feast to the universal Church.

The hymn recalls in classical form the two most significant moments of the Saint's life: the poem of her love for Jesus and the desire, from her youthful years, to set out as a missionary to the lands of the infidels and to seal her mission with blood.
