TEETAERT, AMEDEO da ZEDELGEM. - Capuchin theologian, born at Zedelgem (Bruges) on 3 March 1892, died in Rome on 2 March 1949.
Ordained priest on 19 February 1921, he devoted himself with ever-growing expertise to studies in positive medieval theology, as seen in *La confession aux laïques dans l'Eglise latine depuis le VIIIe jusqu'au XIVe siècle* (Wetteren 1926). Published posthumously: *Quatre questions inédites de Gérard d'Abbeville pour la défense de la superiorité du clergé séculier*, in *Archivio ital. per la storia della Pietà*, I, Rome [1951], pp. 83-178. From its inception in 1931 until his death, he directed the *Collectanea franciscana* (q.v.), where he also compiled a *Bibliographia franciscana*, giving particular attention to the survey of writers and doctrines. He contributed numerous, and some very extensive, entries on Franciscan and medieval topics to the *Dictionnaire de Théologie Catholique* (DTHC) from 1928, the *Dictionnaire d'Histoire et de Géographie Ecclésiastiques* (DHG), and the *Dictionnaire de Droit Canonique* (DDC).
