TEOGNOSTO. – Archimandrite, most faithful friend of the patriarch St. Ignatius of Constantinople; he brought Pope Nicholas I a written defense (libellus) of his patriarch in 862 and remained in Rome until 868.
He left a panegyric on the Saints and a homily on the Dormition (Assumption) of Mary Most Holy. He probably died at the end of the ninth century.
