He had written: *De bello intestino libri tres* and *Expositiones diversarum causarum* (Gennadius, *De viris illustribus*, 18). These works, now lost, which did not maintain the rigid line of the Donatists, were condemned in the *Epistola Parmeniani ad Tyconium* (ca. 378?). Two other writings have been preserved: a *liber regularum*, i.e., a compendium of biblical hermeneutics (ca. 380), and a commentary on the Apocalypse, the original text of which has been reconstructed from later writers, especially Beatus of Liébana. His spiritualistic interpretation of the Apocalypse and his renunciation of chiliasm found great resonance in later exegesis. T. exerted a great influence on St. Augustine, who called him (Contra epist. Parmen., 1, 1): "a man indeed endowed with keen intellect and rich eloquence, but nevertheless a Donatist."
