AGRICOLA, PELAGIAN. — Known only from Prosper of Aquitaine, who says (Chronicon, ad a. 429: PL 51, 594): “A. the Pelagian, son of the Pelagian bishop Severianus, corrupted the Church of Britain with his errors. Pope Celestine sent St. Germanus of Auxerre, who, having confounded the heretics, brought the Britons back to the Catholic faith.” To this same A., Caspari wished to attribute a treatise De divitiis and five letters by an unknown Pelagian author, which provide a good knowledge of Pelagian morality. But today it seems that these writings are rather to be attributed to Fastidius (q.v.).
