AGRICOLA, PELAGIAN. - Known only from Prosper of Aquitaine, who says (Chronicon, at the year 429: PL 51, 594): "Agricola the Pelagian, son of the Pelagian bishop Severianus, corrupted the Church of Great Britain with his errors. Pope Celestine sent there St. Germanus of Auxerre, who, having confounded the heretics, led the Britons back to the Catholic faith." To this same Agricola, Caspari wished to attribute a treatise De divitiis and five letters by an unknown Pelagian author, which give us a good knowledge of Pelagian morality. But today it seems that such writings are rather to be attributed to Fastidius (v.).
