JUAN IGNACIO AGUILAR. — Peruvian Jesuit, b. at Huamanga in 1719, deported to Italy under Charles III, d. at Ferrara in 1799. A good preacher in the indigenous Quechua language, it seems that to him should be attributed the reprint, with additions of his own and of Fr. Jacinto Ochoa, of the work by Fr. Diego Torres Rubio (1619), already completed in 1700 by Fr. de Figueredo, *Arte y vocabulario de la lengua quichua general de los Indios del Perú* (Lima 1754).
