ALBINI, ALESSANDRO. — Bolognese painter (1568–1646), follower of the Carracci. He painted for the tomb of Agostino Carracci a small picture of “Pandora and Prometheus,” engraved by Reni. In 1601–1604 he executed a Crucifixion for the oratory of the Sepulchre in Carpi, now lost, and in Bologna frescoes in the cloister of S. Michele in Bosco and in the church of S. Domenico. In Rome he collaborated with Reni on the frescoes in the Quirinal chapel. A picture with figures of saints in the Pinacoteca of Bologna is attributed to him.
