ALBINI, ALESSANDRO. – Bolognese painter (1568–1646), a follower of Carracci. For the tomb of Agostino Carracci he painted a small picture of «Pandora and Prometheus», engraved by Reni. In 1601–1604 he executed a Crucifixion for the Oratory of the Sepulchre in Carpi, now lost, and in Bologna frescoes in the cloister of S. Michele in Bosco and in the church of S. Domenico. In Rome he collaborated with Reni on the frescoes of the Quirinal chapel. A painting with figures of saints in the Pinacoteca of Bologna is attributed to him.
