ANTONIO di GIUSTO. — Florentine sculptor, born in 1479, who moved to France with his brothers Giovanni (d. 1549) and Andrea. In 1507 he carved the funerary monument of Tommaso James, bishop of Dol in Brittany, in collaboration with his brother Giovanni, whose name appears in the inscription on the monument itself; at Gaillon he executed 12 figures of apostles in alabaster, placed in the castle chapel. From 1516, again in collaboration with his brother, he executed the funerary monument of King Louis XII and Anne of Brittany in the basilica of Saint-Denis in Paris. Nothing is known of the activity that Antonio must have carried out. He died before leaving Italy.
