ALLEGRETTI, CARLO. – Painter from the Marches, b. at Monteprandone (Ascoli), in the second half of the sixteenth century. He was inspired by the Venetian school, in which he had trained. Besides the Adoration of the Magi in the cathedral of Ascoli (1611), considered his masterpiece, we may mention among his works: a St. Augustine in Offida, a St. Bartholomew and a Martyrdom of St. Bartholomew (1605–1608) in Ascoli.
