Aloisi Galanini, Baldassare, Called Il Galanino

ALOISI GALANINI, BALDASSARRE, known as GALANINO. — Painter, born in Bologna in 1577, died in Rome in 1638. His noteworthy works include the Visitation in the church of the Carità, the Madonna with St. John the Baptist and St. Francis, now in the Pinacoteca of Bologna; he collaborated on the decoration of the cloister of S. Michele in Bosco with a History of St. Tiburtius. He was a member of the Accademia di S. Luca. A. may be considered among the finest Carracci followers (v. CARRACCI).
