ANDREA di GIOVANNI da MURANO. — Venetian painter (active from 1462 to 1507). Ancient historians mistakenly referred to him as the “master of the Vivarini.” His works include: in Venice, at the church of S. Zaccaria, the apse of the chapel of S. Tarasio (1462); at the Accademia, a triptych with lunette featuring saints, signed *Opus Andreae de Murano*; and in Vienna (Gallery), a *Crucifixion*.
