ANDREA di GESÙ (da GRANATA). — Discalced Carmelite mystical writer, born in Granada (Spain) in the second half of the sixteenth century, died at Antequera on 25 April 1653. Having donned the habit of the Teresian reform in 1603, and a lover of solitude and recollection, he was several times prior of the Carmelite Desert known as « las Nieves », in the mountains of Ronda (Andalusia). Highly versed in moral theology, he wrote a mystical work: Intelligenza del libro de las Moradas (delle Mansioni), Seville 1652.
