ANDREW of Jesus (of GRANADA). - Discalced Carmelite mystical writer, born in Granada (Spain) in the second half of the 16th century, died at Antequera on 25 April 1653. He took the habit of the Teresian reform in 1603, devoted to solitude and recollection, and was several times prior of the Carmelite Desert known as “las Nieves” in the mountains of Ronda (Andalusia). Thoroughly versed in moral theology, he wrote a mystical work: *Untelligencia del libro de las Moradas (delle Mansioni)*, Seville 1652.
