ANCHIER (ANSCHER), PANTALEON. - Cardinal, a native of Troyes. He was archdeacon of Laon. In December 1262 he was created cardinal of the title of St. Praxedes by Pope Urban IV, his uncle. He completed and consecrated the collegiate church of St. Urban founded by his uncle at Troyes and, in that same city, he had a small church built as a chapel of ease to the parish of St. John. In 1266 he was sent by Clement IV, together with other cardinals, to crown Charles of Anjou king of the Two Sicilies. He died in Rome on 1 November 1286 and was buried in St. Praxedes.
