Aviat, François de Sales

AVIAT, FRANÇOIS DE SALES. - Born at Sézanne on 16 Sept. 1844, died at Perugia on 10 Jan. 1914. Educated by the Sisters of the Visitation of Troyes under the guidance of Fr. Brisson and of Chappuis (v.), in 1868 she founded the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales (v.) to assist young working women, and for this work of hers she endured many struggles, distinguishing herself by wisdom and prudence. Her cause for beatification is in progress.
