BORTOLONI, MATTIA. — Painter, born in 1606 in S. Bellino (Polesine), died in Bergamo in 1750. He derived from A. Balestra a fluid decorative taste, to which was later added, in his final years, the influence of the manner of G. B. Pittoni. His most significant works are the frescoes of the dome of the Tolentini (Venice), those of the vault of the choir and the presbytery in S. Bartolomeo in Bergamo, and those of the Consolata in Turin.
