BORTOLONI, MATTIA. — Painter, born in 1696 at S. Bellino (Polesine), died at Bergamo in 1750. From A. Balestra he derived a fluid decorative taste, to which, in his final years, was added the influence of the style of G. B. Pittoni. His most significant works are the frescoes in the dome of the Tolentini (Venice), those on the vault of the choir and presbytery in S. Barzolomeo at Bergamo, and those of the Consolata in Turin.
