BRENTANO, GIUSEPPE. — Architect, born in Milan in 1862 and died there in 1889, a pupil of Camillo Boito. His principal work is the design for the façade of Milan Cathedral, which won first prize in the international competition of 1888 and resulted from a long and careful study of Italian, French, German, and Austrian Gothic architecture.
