CAMETTI, ALBERTO. – Musicologist and composer, born in Rome on 5 May 1871, died there on 1 June 1935. Chapel master at S. Luigi de' Francesi in Rome, member of the Pontifical Commission for Sacred Music established by Pius X.
He published: I Melodrammi biblici all'Ospizio S. Michele in Roma (Rome, 1899); Frescobaldi in Roma, in Riv. Mus. It., 15 (1908), p. 701 ff.; La scuola dei Pueri cantus di S. Luigi de' Francesi e i suoi principali allievi, ibid., 22 (1915), p. 593 ff.; Palestrina (Milan, 1925). Among his sacred musical compositions are masses, vespers, motets, and organ music.
