CUNILIAT, FULGENZIO. - Dominican theologian and writer, b. in Venice (to a French father from Lyon) on 22 Feb. 1685, d. there on 9 Oct. 1759. He entered religious life at Conegliano in 1700 and taught philosophy and theology for many years. He was vicar general of the reformed Congregation of the Bl. Giacomo Salomoni (1737-1739). A friend of Apostolo Zeno.

An exemplary religious and a sought-after director of conscience, he wrote: Meditazioni per tutto l'anno accomodate agli evangeli etc. (4 vols., Venice 1733); Meditazioni per tutto l'anno sulle feste, virtù e prerogative della S.ma Vergine Madre di Dio etc. (4 vols., ibid. 1734); Nuovo leggendario de santi, a modo di meditazioni etc. (6 vols., ibid. 1738); Bibliotheca eucaristica (2 vols., ibid. 1744); Universae theologiae moralis accurata complexio (2 vols., ibid. 1754; ibid. 1760, 1772, 1789 etc.) and other works of a historical and ascetic character.
