Duranti, Jean-Étienne

DURANTI, JEAN-ETIENNE - Liturgist, president of the Parliament of Toulouse, killed in a Huguenot uprising on 11 February 1589.

In his work De ritibus Ecclesiae catholicae (Rome, 1591), much appreciated by Pope Sixtus V, he discusses all the liturgical rites and objects, following the method of Durandus’s Rationale, though largely retaining its mystical explanations.
