DURANTI, JEAN-ETIENNE – Liturgist, president of the Parliament of Toulouse, killed in a Huguenot uprising on 11 Feb. 1589.
In his work *De ritibus Ecclesiae catholicae* (Rome 1591), much esteemed by Pope Sixtus V, he treats of all the rites and liturgical objects according to the method of the *Rationale* of Durandus, though largely omitting its mystical explanations.
