EBNER, Adalbert. — Liturgist, born at Strasbourg on 16 Dec. 1861, died on 25 Feb. 1898 at Eichstätt, where he was cathedral vicar and professor at the episcopal gymnasium; he travelled in Italy to collect and study manuscripts from which he drew abundant material for the liturgical and artistic history of the Roman Missal and the Roman Ritual.
His important works include: *Quellen und Forschungen zur Geschichte und Kunstgeschichte des Missale Romanum im Mittelalter. Der Italicum*, and *Quellen und Forschungen zur Geschichte und Kunstgeschichte des Rituale Romanum im Mittelalter*, both published in Freiburg im Br. in 1896 by Filippo Oppenheim.
