EBNER, ADALBERT. – Liturgist, born in Strasbourg on 16 December 1861, died on 25 February 1898 in Eichstätt, where he was cathedral vicar and professor at the episcopal secondary school; he travelled through Italy to collect and study codices, from which he drew abundant material for the liturgical and artistic history of the Roman Missal and the Ritual.
His works are important: Quellen und Forschungen zur Geschichte und Kunstgeschichte des Missale Romanum im Mittelalter. Iter Italicum, and Quellen und Forschungen zur Geschichte und Kunstgeschichte des Rituale Romanum im Mittelalter, all published in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1896. Filippo Oppenheim
