EBNER, ADALBERT. - Liturgist, b. in Strasbourg on 16 Dec. 1861, d. on 25 Feb. 1898 in Eichstätt, where he was vicar of the cathedral and professor at the episcopal gymnasium; he traveled in Italy to collect and study codices, from which he drew abundant material for the liturgical and artistic history of the Roman Missal and the Ritual.

His works are important: Quellen und Forschungen zur Geschichte und Kunstgeschichte des Missale Romanum im Mittelalter. Iter Italicum, and Quellen und Forschungen zur Geschichte und Kunstgeschichte des Rituale Romanum im Mittelalter, both published in Freiburg im Breisgau, in 1896.
