ELIZABETH OF THE HOLY TRINITY, Venerable. - Discalced Carmelite mystic, in the world Marie Joséphine Elisabeth Catcz, b. 18 July 1880 in Avord (Cher), from 1901 a Carmelite in Dijon, where she died in the odor of sanctity on 9 Nov. 1906. She wonderfully succeeded in realizing a life of intimate and continuous communion with the One and Triune God, and attained the highest contemplation. The cause of her beatification has been introduced.

The accounts of her life and of her interior life, drawn from her writings, were published by the sisters of Dijon under the title: Soeur Elisabeth de la Trinité, religieuse carmélite, Souvenirs (Dijon 1915, 1918, 1930, 1935, Paris 1927), in Italian translation (Florence 1926) and in English translation (London 1912).
