ELETTA di GESÙ. — Discalced Carmelite, in the world Caterina Tramazzoli, born in Terni on 28 January 1605, died in Prague on 11 January 1663.
She entered the convent of the Discalced Carmelite nuns of Terni on 3 June 1626, and made her profession there on 17 June 1627, initially called Sister B. di S. Giovanni and later E. di G. In 1629 she was sent, with other sisters, among them the venerable Maria Paola di Gesù (Centurioni), to the foundation of a new monastery of Discalced Carmelite nuns in Vienna (Austria), of which she was later elected prioress (1638–41); then, in 1643, to the foundation in Graz (Styria), where she was again made prioress (1644), and from there she went to the foundation in Prague (Bohemia), arriving there on 10 December 1656; she died there in the reputation of holiness, and her incorrupt body is preserved in the choir of that monastery.
