FALCONE, GIUSEPPE. — Born in Naples on 4 July 1802, died there on 13 June 1866. He belonged to the Congregation of the Mission (admitted on 3 December 1816) and for several years devoted himself to the ministry of missions and to retreats for the clergy in the then Kingdom of Naples.
Forced by illness into inactivity while still in the prime of life, he devoted himself to composing ascetical pamphlets, which met with considerable success. The principal ones are: Gesù dalla Croce al cuore del mandano (Naples 1825, 6th ed. there 1848); Raccolta di sacre indulgenze (there 1848); Vita cristiana (Bari 1842); Raccolta di sacre cerimonie (Naples 1850).
