FRANCISCO of Jesus Mary. — Discalced Carmelite theologian, originally from Burgos, d. at Salamanca in 1677. He taught theology for many years at the famous college of Salamanca, was prior of various convents, and a man of tested prudence and extraordinary austerity.
He published the first volume of the *Cursus Salmanticensis moralis* with treatises: *De Sacramentis in genere*, *De Baptismo*, *De Confirmatione*, *De Eucharistia*, *De Extrema Unctione* (Salamanca 1663, Antwerp 1672, Madrid 1709, Venice 1750), *Commentarius in Apocalypsin*, together with the treatise: *De sensibus S. Scripturae* (2 vols., Lyons 1648–49), *Incendium animae fidelis ad amorem* (Salamanca 1680).
