FULGENZIO di SAN GIUSEPPE. — Missionary, born in 1666 at Fanano (Modena), he professed his vows in the Order of Discalced Carmelites (province of Lombardy) in 1685. Sent as a missionary to India, he was vicar general of the apostolic vicariate of the Great Mogul at Surat (1700), and subsequently was charged with handling affairs concerning the dissolution of the suppressed convent of Goa (1702). Having returned to Italy (1703), he died on 13 October 1734 at Modena.
His interesting work is preserved: Relazione di viaggi sì di mare come di terra e quanto in quelli di più particolare successo, in L'Archigienuzio, 2 (1907), pp. 73–106.
