FRINS, VICTOR. – Jesuit, theologian, born in Aachen, 1880, died in Bonn on 13 April 1912. He taught philosophy and theology at the seminary in Regensburg, Sacred Scripture, moral theology, and canon law at Ditton-Hall, and scholastic theology at St. Bueno's. He spent the last twenty years in the office of spiritual director.
His words and writings were always marked by solidity and rectitude of principles, originality, and depth of unselfish intellect. He contributed to various periodicals, especially Stimmen aus Maria-Laach; but he is best known for his works: Doctrina s. Thomae Aquinatis de cooperatione Dei (Paris 1893), a vigorous and clear refutation of opposing opinions; De actibus humanis ontologica et psychologica consideratis (Freiburg im Br. 1897); De actibus humanis moraliter consideratis (ibid. 1904); De formanda conscientia (ibid. 1911). His work remained unfinished with the fourth volume, De peccatis.
