LEPIDI, ALBERTO. - Dominican philosopher and theologian, b. at Popoli (Abruzzo) in 1838, d. at Rome (photo by Gab. fot. nas.) in 1922. He studied in Rome and Viterbo. In 1870 he was sent to restore theological studies in the French province. In 1874 he moved to Louvain. In 1885 he was recalled to Rome to head the College of St Thomas and there nobly held the chair of theology. In 1897 he left teaching, having been appointed Master of the Apostolic Palace.
