MARKOVIĆ, GIOVANNI. — Franciscan, born in Sinj in Dalmatia on 23 October 1839, died there on 22 October 1910. Ordained a priest in 1866, he was professor of history at the Theological Institute of Sebenico and provincial minister of his Order.
In the great movement for the union of the Slavic Churches, against excessively accommodating tendencies, to the point
field, a victim of yellow fever, in the following month. His remains were transported to Lyon in 1928.
